Operated by Yohannesburg Limited
MeatSafari is a marketplace that connects buyers and sellers across Africa and the world. This center explains, in plain language, how we work to keep the marketplace safe and fair. We avoid exaggerated claims, and we say honestly when a feature is still in development.
Verification is progressive and never automatic. New accounts start at Level 0 (basic account). Level 1 covers basic identity or account verification. Level 2 covers business or professional verification (e.g. business registration, documents, business email). Level 3 covers enhanced verification required for specific services, larger transactions, or regulatory reasons. A business is only marked verified after MeatSafari has actually reviewed the relevant information. Nothing is ever auto-verified, and no verification is claimed before it has occurred.
Payments are processed through a connected payment provider. MeatSafari facilitates the transaction but does not take custody of seller funds as its own money. Where transaction protection applies, funds are held or released according to clear, documented rules. Platform fees are transparent and shown before checkout. MeatSafari never displays a payment as successful unless a verified payment record exists.
A buyer can open a dispute on an eligible order. The seller can respond. Both sides can provide relevant information such as order details, delivery information, and proof of delivery. Disputes move through clear stages: Open, Under Review, Waiting for Information, Resolved, and Closed. MeatSafari does not decide disputes using unverified assumptions or automated guessing.
Anyone can report a listing, business, message, or user that they believe violates MeatSafari policies. Reports are reviewed by our team. You can report from a listing, a business profile, or inside a conversation. We do not publicly identify who made a report. Repeated unfounded reports from the same account are themselves treated as abuse.
Reviews are only available after an eligible completed transaction. We prevent reviews of your own listings, duplicate reviews, and reviews for cancelled transactions. Users can report a review they believe is dishonest or abusive. MeatSafari has moderation tools and does not allow manipulated review counts.
Where transaction protection applies, the buyer pays through MeatSafari and the seller is paid out according to documented rules. MeatSafari does not hold seller money as its own. Every sensitive owner and admin action is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log. We never pretend the platform is larger than it is. If a protection does not exist yet, we say so honestly.
Logistics providers on MeatSafari have their own onboarding and, where required, verification. Delivery jobs are tracked through clear statuses such as accepted, picked up, in transit, and delivered. Delivery evidence is recorded when provided. MeatSafari does not fabricate delivery activity or invent logistics partners.
MeatSafari maintains prohibited and restricted categories that reflect applicable laws and marketplace policy. What is legal in one country may be restricted in another; the owner configures country-specific restrictions. Listings, messages, and profiles can be restricted or removed for violations. We do not permanently ban a user based solely on uncertain automated detection.
Keep payments and conversations on MeatSafari. Be cautious of anyone who tries to move a transaction off the platform. Verify the business profile, reviews, and verification level before paying. Share only the information a transaction genuinely needs. Never share passwords, one-time codes, or passkey details. Use the report and block tools if something feels wrong, and contact support through the app.
We do not fabricate users, businesses, transactions, reviews, verification, or statistics. Numbers you see on MeatSafari come from real records. If something is not yet available in your country, we tell you rather than pretending otherwise. If you ever see something that looks wrong, please report it through the app or contact support.
